This is just a plucky little starter - sour, active, and really into its work! We really love making sourdough “PlayDoh” textured dough to turn into big rolls with this sourdough!

CHILD APPROVED!

Our child tester said her test loaf “tastes reeeeeeaaalllly good, mama!” but then she heavily critiqued the texture. So if your kids are losing baby teeth, make a soft loaf.

  • Single option: Approximately 1/2 teaspoon of our premium Russian Rye sourdough starter culture. This ideal quantity ensures that you have enough to initiate the activation process twice, allowing for a second attempt if necessary (wink-wink).

  • If you opt for the share option, you will receive two Russian Rye sourdough starter cultures that you can enjoy with a friend. Each of you will have enough starter to initiate the fermentation process twice.

  • Sourdough is a type of mesophilic ferment, which means it cultures best at room temperature. This natural fermentation process gives sourdough its unique flavor and texture, making it a popular choice for bread enthusiasts.

  • Ships dehydrated and does not include banneton.

  • This sourdough starter is made in a facility that also processes wheat, dairy and other possible allergens.
