Kombucha, Jun, and Vinegar

This is a bit of a strange post, because it mostly deals with a policy change. How we handle kombucha, jun, and vinegar sales is changing! Y’all will have to decide if that’s for better or for worse, but we are excited because the system will be more streamlined and efficient! I love efficiency like y’all wouldn’t believe.

Why things are changing

The main reason things are changing is because y’all don’t really buy a lot of these categories of probiotic cultures, and they take up a lot of space if you’re trying to avoid cross-contamination. Unlike me, Sabrina does have to do the work of avoiding it, since she does all the operations. I just type, for the most part. The way we’re (she’s) set up right now, it’s doable, but there’s really no joy in keeping all of these products fully stocked at all times. And, based on the routinely declining sales of kombucha, jun, and vinegar, there’s no reason to store packages of ready-to-go thems until y’all want them.

What does this mean for y’all?

Not much different, honestly. Your main thing will be to put yourself on the waiting list for the culture you want, and then we’ll let you know when it’s made for you and you can buy it.

Then why are you writing a whole article on this?

Because we’re switching to a rotational system. Whichever product has the largest waitlist population will be what gets made first. Remember, we are not keeping them all active and producing anymore: just one at a time now. So, we shall make them in order of highest to lowest demand. They’ll all get made, but that’ll be the other since one at a time.

ROTATIONAL SYSTEM IS WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW, NOT ALL OF THEM BEING IN STOCK ALL THE TIME

What do I need to do if I want kombucha, jun, or vinegar, again?

You need to sign up for the waitlist. Please specify if you want it with or without a SCOBY. In most cases, you’ll get it faster if you don’t want a SCOBY. And then once it’s ready, you’ll be notified that it’s your turn to buy what you wanted!

If you want something that’s currently in stock, you need not sign up for anything. It’s just the stuff that’s out of stock, though at some point all of these 3 types will work on the same rotational system.

What about your other cultures?

Nah. We’re not monkeying with that system, and have neither the need nor the desire to do so. Your kefirs, yogurts, sourdoughs, accessories, and kits are all same same. Just the kombucha, jun, and vinegar system is changing.

What if I have more questions you didn’t answer?

Shoot me or Sabrina an email, and we’ll help you out!
