Very Active. And when we say, “very active,” what we really mean is, “holy moly guacamole this thing is going nuts!” Seriously, it looks excited on the first day of activation, and continues on, yipping and yapping all chihuahua style that it wants to be baked! This has that classic sourdough aroma, brilliant rise, and is super forgiving (read as: Allie has spent some time doing bad things to this starter).

Child Tester has been over the moon about this one, stressing that NO experiments may be performed on it (haha) and that I was to ensure I didn’t succeed in killing this one. She’s still waiting for Sabrina’s pretzel recipe to be made, and for some lovely Bavarian donuts, but every time she gets bread with this starters, there is a vigorous shaking of TWO THUMBS UP!! in the air as a reminder that this one’s a keeper!
