This starter, one of our least sour, is high on our list of most frequently favored! We almost always choose this starter when we’re making bread for someone who’s uncertain about sourdough or sensitive to tart flavors!

Our child tester is getting some loose teeth she’s been complaining about that, but despite the discomfort she plowed through half of a baguette (once we ripped it up into small bits for her), then asked if she could have more or if she had to eat something else before she had more (we let her have more, but added raspberries to the mix). Definitive TWO THUMBS UP!! Our child tester really loves this starter. Except for when she wants a tart bread, in which case she complains that we either used commercial yeast or not enough starter. She’s developed a love of grocery store bread that we pretend doesn’t exist while we’re make her super soft breads with this starter, and then she gives it TWO THUMBS UP!!
